Due to our growth, we have the following new position available in our engineering office in Calgary, Alberta:

Embedded Linux Software Developer

You are an experienced software developer with embedded Linux server development experience. You love to solve problems and are actively engaged in the design and build of your projects. You take pride in being a technical expert in your area. You work with a small team of developers to expand product capabilities for new markets.

Must have …

  • Guru in embedded Linux server application development
  • Experience with layer 2 and layer 3 network protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, test, and debug embedded server applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Nice to have …

  • Knowledge of the OpenWRT development environment
  • Experience with network troubleshooting using Wireshark
  • Background in wireless technologies including 802.11
  • Knowledge of analog telephony and VoIP
  • Cisco training and credentials

Education …

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related area of study.

Partial funding for this position is provided by the IRAP Youth Employment Program. To be eligible for this position, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
  • be between 15 and 30 years old (inclusive)
  • have completed post-secondary education
  • be a first-time youth participant in a placement of the Career Focus Program of the Youth Employment Strategy (YES)
  • not be in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits
  • be legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations
